The “MO”re You Know: Stay informed and cautious of ongoing work zones during Memorial Day weekend travel

Memorial Day is widely considered to be the first big travel weekend of the summer. Unfortunately, increased travel is often associated with an uptick in poor driving decisions. Distracted driving, impaired driving, excessive speeds and not wearing seat belts are just a few of the concerns that may accompany the heavier Memorial Day weekend traffic. It takes all of us working together to reduce these risks. Do your part by using good judgment, staying cautious and never driving impaired.

MoDOT officials are urging the traveling public to make safe driving decisions through the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend and beyond. With hundreds of thousands of fans expected to visit the state for the FIFA World Cup™ in a matter of weeks, higher traffic is anticipated throughout the already busy summer construction season.

Stay informed of road conditions and delays on MoDOT's Traveler Information Map , also available as a free mobile app for Apple and Android devices. Some of the major work zones with permanent lane closures that will remain in place for the holiday weekend are listed by area below:
