Lane closures, demolition work scheduled as part of Central Utilities Initiative Phase II

As part of the Central Utilities Initiative Phase II project the following work will be occurring in Central Neighborhood starting Monday, Jan. 20:

Vanderbilt Place Single-Lane Roadway, Sidewalk Closures

• Underground utility work will occur across Vanderbilt Place just east of the 25th Avenue South intersection.

• Single-lane closure will occur daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for approximately 4 weeks.

• Traffic controllers will be on-site to assist with the flow of traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.

• The roadway will be plated from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. to allow for two-way traffic.

• Underground work will also occur in the parking lot next to the Schulman Center.

University Club Demolition

• Manual demolition of the University Club, located along Garland Avenue, will occur Jan. 20-Feb. 20.

• Work will occur daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• To mitigate noise from this work, noise barriers will be installed around the jobsite to reduce disruption to nearby buildings.
