DGA Chair Governor Andy Beshear and DGA Vice Chair Governor Gretchen Whitmer released the following statement in response to Trump's executive order to restrict mail-in voting:

"States, not the president, run and administer elections in this country. Donald Trump knows that his cost hikes and health care cuts are going to lose him a whole bunch of races this November - and that's why he's fighting at every turn to make it harder for Americans to cast their ballots. Democratic governors will always stand up to protect our states and the fundamental right to vote - especially in the face of these ongoing attacks and dangerous federal overreach."
