The Department of Creative Media & Visual Arts at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is hosting a month-long interactive gallery installation titled "Connected Together." The installation is available for public viewing at the SWOSU Art Building through March 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The exhibition was developed by students in the Art-3953 Professional Practice Design course and the Art-4433 Illustration Studio III course with faculty guidance from Angela Keeler Reeves and Dr. Todd Parker. The project focuses on connections within the SWOSU community and reflects everyday interactions that shape campus life. Participation in the installation is encouraged for the campus community, while the exhibit remains open to the public during gallery hours.
Students from the two upper-level art courses worked together to plan, design, and install the exhibition as part of their coursework. The collaborative project brought together students working in graphic design, illustration, and other visual media areas while giving them experience preparing and presenting a gallery installation.
The Department of Creative Media & Visual Arts at SWOSU offers programs in art education, graphic design, media production, theatre, and other creative disciplines. The department combines traditional art foundations with contemporary practices while giving students opportunities for professional and collaborative projects.
"Connected Together" will remain on display through March 27 in the SWOSU Art Building gallery. The installation is designed to allow visitors to interact with the exhibit and engage with the themes presented by the student artists.
