The University of Toledo is advancing the future of transportation.

UToledo's College of Engineering will showcase academic programs, student opportunities and research innovations supporting a rapidly evolving mobility sector during the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Rocket Motorsports is among the student organizations that will be featured during an EVIS America industry tour at the College of Engineering.

EVIS America is set to explore the technologies, policies, infrastructure and investment shaping the next generation of transportation, kicking off with industry tours on Tuesday, Nov. 3, followed by a conference and innovation expo at the Glass City Center on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and Thursday, Nov. 5. UToledo is set to showcase student and faculty engagement in emerging technologies related to robotics, electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Highlights will include the newly established Electric Vehicle Club, a multidisciplinary student organization that invites students to design, build and engage with emerging electric mobility technologies, as well as Rocket Motorsports, the student organization that annually designs and builds a Formula One-style racecar from scratch with an eye toward a major regional competition at the Michigan International Speedway each May.

"The University of Toledo College of Engineering is preparing students for high-impact careers in the mobility sector while supporting its rapidly evolving workforce," said Dr. Mohammad Elahinia, dean of the UToledo College of Engineering. "EVIS America is a valuable opportunity for our students to engage in industry innovation while celebrating our own leadership in research and experience-based educational opportunities."

Building on five editions of the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit in Abu Dhabi, EVIS America is making its North American debut in a region with a deep automotive manufacturing heritage and a growing role in the future of transportation. This regional distinction is supported by UToledo, the only R1 University in Northwest Ohio, which facilitates collaboration among industry, faculty and students to address challenges and foster innovation in the workforce as one of country's top-tier research institutions.

EVIS America will explore electric vehicles, alternative fuels, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, among other topics, and welcome attendees to explore emerging solutions, hear expert perspectives through conference sessions and panels and connect with organizations working across the industry.

To purchase tickets or for more information, including an agenda detailing the three-day programming, go to the EVIS America website. UToledo students, faculty and staff can use code UTOL100 for a $200 full conference rate.
