The Online Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program offered by NJIT's Ying Wu College of Computing has been ranked No. 21 in the nation by MastersInAI.org. The program earned recognition for its strong performance in key areas such as affordability, research output and graduate outcomes.
MastersInAI.org evaluates programs nationwide to provide prospective students with insights into top-tier options for pursuing advanced AI studies. For the 2025 edition of its Best Online Master's in Artificial Intelligence rankings, MastersInAI.org assessed 75 programs across the country, recognizing NJIT for its outstanding performance in multiple areas:
The rankings methodology incorporated data from reliable sources, like the U.S. Department of Education, to ensure a fair and accurate assessment.

NJIT's AI programs are part of a larger push for the university to become a leader in both AI research and application in higher education. The $10 million AI initiative has spurred the launch of the Grace Hopper AI Research Institute, expanded investment to attract top-tier AI talent at NJIT and created the Center for Educational Innovation Excellence, where experts will study AI's role in enhancing curricula and effective teaching/learning.
