The American Red Cross of the Quad Cities and Northwest Illinois has been actively assisting the Lena community since the early morning hours of Saturday, April 18, following the devastating tornado that struck the area.
Since then, the northwest Illinois community has come together to help those in need. Red Cross volunteer teams have been on the ground conducting damage assessments, operating a resource center at Village Hall, distributing clean-up supplies, and providing comfort and care to residents impacted by the storm.
As recovery efforts continue, the American Red Cross-alongside local, state, and nonprofit partners-will host a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for Stephenson County residents. This event will take place on Thursday, April 30, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lena Community Center (497 Lions Drive, Lena, IL 61048).
The MARC will serve as a centralized location where residents can access essential services and resources to support their recovery.
Available services may include:
House Minority Leader Tony McCombie is encouraging community members to attend and take advantage of the wide range of support services available. Leader McCombie is also asking that residents help spread the word to ensure those affected are aware of this opportunity to receive assistance.
