Tillis, Budd Applaud Senate Confirmation of Two NC Judges

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Ted Budd (R-NC) applauded the Senate's recent confirmation of Susan Rodriguez and Matthew Orso to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Both nominees were recommended by Senators Tillis and Budd.

"I'm glad to see Susan Rodriguez and Matthew Orso confirmed by the Senate to serve the Western District of North Carolina," said Senator Tillis. "Throughout this process, my focus has been on advancing judges who demonstrate sound judgment, a strong respect for the Constitution, and an unwavering commitment to fairness. I appreciate the White House's partnership in identifying strong candidates, and I look forward to seeing both Judge Rodriguez and Judge Orso bring their experience and dedication to the federal bench."

Susan C. Rodriguez currently serves as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Western District of North Carolina. Judge Rodriguez was previously a partner at the law firm, McGuireWoods LLP, where she was the co-leader of the firm's financial institutions industry team.

Matthew Orso currently serves as a partner at the law firm, Troutman Pepper Locke LLP. Mr. Orso previously clerked for Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
