The Personal Data Protection Office joins the nationwide campaign "Childhood without violence", the aim of which is to counteract all forms of violence against children and promote a safe and supportive educational environment.
The initiative organised by the Empowering Children Foundation and the National Coalition for Children Protection Reform is carried out under the honorary patronage of the Ombudsman for Children, Ms. Monika Horny-Cieślak. The campaign will run from 6 October to 19 November 2025, and will culminate in the Word Day for the Prevention of the Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence.
As part of the support, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, Mirosław Wróblewski, encourages public institutions, schools, social organisations and local communities to join the campaign, among other things, by organising educational activities, events promoting child safety, participation in webinars and information campaigns.
The campaign also has a symbolic dimension, as on November 19, buildings throughout Poland will be illuminated in red as an expression of solidarity with children experiencing violence and opposition to its use.
For years, the Personal Data Protection Office has been supporting educational initiatives on the protection of the rights and privacy of the youngest, among others through the "Your Data - Your Concern" program. In addition, in 2024, together with the Orange Foundation, the Personal Data Protection published an educational guide entitled "Child's image on the Internet. To publish or not?", which provides practical support in protecting the privacy of the youngest and consciously avoiding the risks associated with the publication of their image on the Internet.
The participation of the Personal Data Protection Office in the "Childhood without Violence" campaign is another step towards building a safe environment in which children can develop with respect for their dignity and the right to privacy.
