Trustwave Named a Representative Vendor in 2025 Gartner® Market Guide for Co-Managed Security Monitoring Services

April 16, 2025 2 Minute Read

For the second consecutive year, Trustwave has been named a Representative Vendor in the just-released 2025 Gartner® Market Guide for Co-Managed Security Monitoring Services.

"We believe that inclusion in this report is further validation that Trustwave's offerings continue to be aligned with the needs of the market. We feel honored to be recognized in this research out of the field of over 500 participants," says Jesse Emerson, SVP of Product Management & Solutions Engineering. "In our opinion, to be included is a testament to the skills of our delivery team, SpiderLabs elite engineers, and our approach with clients."

Previously, Gartner named Trustwave as a Representative Vendor in the 2024 Gartner® Market Guide for Digital Forensics and Incident Response Retainer Services and the 2024 Gartner® Market Guide for Managed Detection and Response Services.

A Market Guide defines a market and explains what clients can expect it to do in the short term. With the focus on early, more chaotic markets, a Market Guide does not rate or position vendors within the market, but rather more commonly outlines attributes of representative vendors that are providing offerings in the market to give further insight into the market itself.

Gartner estimates that there are more than 500 vendors who offer co-managed security monitoring services. A multitude of terms is used to describe these services, such as managed endpoint detection and response (MEDR), managed extended detection and response (MXDR) and managed SIEM (MSIEM). The providers included in this Market Guide have a wide degree of global diversity and are visible to Gartner clients (based on inquiries) or appear in regular searches on gartner.com.

Co-Managed Security Monitoring Services Requirements

Gartner defines co-managed security monitoring as the remote management and monitoring of client-owned TDIR-capable tools. These services-such as EDR, SIEM, and XDR-help ensure system availability and performance while also delivering expert consulting across a variety of functions. These functions include developing use cases, engineering detections, configuring APIs, normalizing data, and creating reporting content.

According to Gartner, the essential capabilities for a vendor in this market include specialized and consultative expertise in provisioning, configuring, and customizing products that support threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR). These products include endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), and security information and event management (SIEM).

The Trustwave Difference

Trustwave offers a highly regarded portfolio of security monitoring services, including its industry-leading Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution, co-managed Security Operations Center (SOC) for SIEM, and Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) services.

  • Managed Detection and Response (MDR): Trustwave's MDR delivers rapid threat detection and response. Leveraging clients' existing security tools and infrastructure, Trustwave's cybersecurity experts detect, investigate, and neutralize threats, helping organizations maximize the value of their security investments.
  • Co-Managed SOC (SIEM): Trustwave's Co-Managed SOC empowers organizations to modernize their security operations with 24/7 real-time threat monitoring, deep investigations, and actionable incident response. Trustwave's dedicated Cyber Success Team works closely with clients to continuously develop and refine use cases, thus helping reduce alert fatigue by up to 90% and boosting SOC efficiency.
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR): Trustwave's DFIR retainer services provide rapid response in the event of a breach-enabling clients to identify the source, impact, and scope of incidents while strengthening their overall readiness.

In the report, Gartner also observed that many organizations invest in TDIR-capable tools without fully resourcing their day-to-day operations. Co-managed security monitoring services like those from Trustwave help close that gap-offering expert support in areas such as architecture, maintenance, and content development, all while clients retain ownership and control of their technologies.
