Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Earns Reaccreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery

TMH is the only hospital in North Florida accredited for hernia care.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Monday, June 23, 2025) - Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) has earned reaccreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). TMH is one of four facilities with this accreditation in the state and the only one in the North Florida region. For patients, this means access to nationally recognized surgical care, advanced techniques and a team committed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

TMH is home to a team of expert general surgeons who have earned accreditation in specializing in hernia repair. TMH's Surgeons of Excellence in hernia repair include Brett Howard, MD, Joey Jarrard, MD, FACS, FASMBS and James Parker, MD. From the most common hernia cases to complex abdominal wall reconstruction, our surgeons deliver expert, patient-centered care using the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
