PASADENA, Calif.- Pasadena is celebrating Walktober with a month-long celebration of walking, public health, and community engagement with free activities across the city. The City of Pasadena Department of Transportation in partnership with Day One and the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition (PasCSC) invites all of Pasadena to get out and WALK in October! Now in its ninth year in Pasadena, Walktober was launched locally by the PasCSC and community partners. This year, the City is sponsoring all Walktober events.
Walktober is an annual international promotion to encourage walking. Communities across the world organize fun events bringing awareness to walking.
The City in collaboration with Day One, and PasCSC have partnered with local organizations and community members to put together a month-long calendar of in-person walks, tours, and community events.
The slate of events reflects a wide range of ways to enjoy walking and moving in the City. Be it for everyday exercise, mental health, to meet new people, learn about the city, or simply to get to work or school, we hope to inspire the Pasadena community by providing a variety of fun exciting events highlighting the City's rich history, cultural amenities, art, and natural beauty. Early registration for all events is highly encouraged as many events have limited capacity.
