February 2026 Hiring Events: Explore Civil Service Careers in Your Neighborhood

Thinking about a career with the City of Philadelphia but not sure where to start? The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is here to help. Whether you're new to the workforce, changing careers, or looking to make a difference, OHR is bringing job resources directly to neighborhoods across the city this February.

Learn about City careers-where you are

OHR hosts City Career Office Hours at neighborhood libraries and community events to help residents:

  • Learn how the civil service hiring process works

  • Explore current job openings in public safety, trades, administration, and more

  • Ask questions about benefits, qualifications, and next steps

  • Get help submitting your job application on-site

These events are free, open to the public, and staffed by HR professionals ready to guide you.

Meet the Hiring Bus

The Hiring Bus is a mobile recruitment center that travels to neighborhoods across Philadelphia. Staffed by City HR professionals, the bus is equipped with laptops, Wi-Fi, and real-time support so you can:

  • Search current job openings

  • Get step-by-step help applying

  • Talk to City staff about your career interests

  • Submit your application on-site

Look for the Hiring Bus at select events throughout the year-it's designed to meet you where you are and make the path to public service more accessible.

Why it matters

City government jobs offer more than just a paycheck. Civil service careers come with competitive salaries, health and retirement benefits, job stability, and the opportunity to serve your community. When you work for the City, you help shape Philadelphia's future while building your own.
