One Arrested for Assault and Burglary

One person has been arrested following an assault and burglary that occurred this afternoon on E Fifth Street.

Around 12:52 p.m., on November 19, 2024, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of E Fifth Street for a burglary. The suspect entered the residence without consent before fleeing. A short time later, officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of DeWeese Street for a disorder. The suspect assaulted two people inside the residence on DeWeese Street.

With the help of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was located on DeWeese Street and arrested.

Justin Clark, 31, was arrested and charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 4th Degree, and Resisting Arrest, as well as unrelated warrants.
