Clarkson Assistant Professor Bethany Almeida Named Rising Star in Regenerative Engineering

Clarkson University Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Bethany Almeida has been named a Rising Star for the Rock Stars of Regenerative Engineering Symposium, recognizing her as an early-career researcher with the potential to become a leader in the field.

Almeida received the recognition during the Aug. 24 symposium at the Fall 2026 American Chemical Society Annual Meeting. Rising Stars are selected to showcase innovative research alongside established experts in regenerative engineering.

As part of the honor, Almeida presented her research during the symposium and received a certificate and honorarium.

The annual Rock Stars of Regenerative Engineering Symposium brings together researchers, scientists and industry leaders working to advance regenerative engineering. The interdisciplinary field applies principles from engineering, materials science, biology and medicine to develop approaches for repairing or regenerating damaged tissues and organs.

The symposium features presentations from established leaders in the field as well as Rising Stars, typically early-career faculty members selected for the promise and innovation of their research. It also provides opportunities for emerging researchers to present their work and connect with experts from academia and industry.

The symposium is coordinated by the American Chemical Society's Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering and the Regenerative Engineering Society.
