The MD|DC Credit Union Association's Advocacy Luncheon featured Senator Angela Alsobrooks and Representative Sarah Elfreth. 100 credit union professionals from Maryland, Delaware and DC attended the annual event.
Senator Angela Alsobrooks emphasized that expanding economic opportunity remains her top priority and highlighted the essential role credit unions play in advancing financial stability for individuals and families. She recognized credit unions as key community partners, noting their impact in supporting financial well-being and expanding access to affordable financial services.
Representative Sarah Elfreth also addressed attendees, expressing gratitude for the vital financial relief credit unions provided during recent government shutdowns, relief that was especially meaningful in a district home to more than 45,000 federal workers.
Rep. Elfreth encouraged credit union advocates to share policy ideas that can further strengthen communities and support hardworking families.
