Route PP to Close Daily for Roadway Improvements in Franklin County April 22

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO. - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has scheduled upcoming daily closures along Route PP in Franklin County when an improvement project gets underway on that route next week.

The project begins Monday, April 20 with full closures starting on April 22 when Route PP will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at various locations between Route 30 and Pickles Ford Road. The road will reopen to traffic daily after 3 p.m. Closure locations will shift as work progresses and will be coordinated with the contractor. During these closures, motorists will be directed to follow a signed detour.

Initial work will focus on replacing 16 pipe crossings along the route, followed by additional roadway and safety improvements. Pipe replacement work is expected to begin April 22, weather permitting.

In addition to drainage improvements, the project includes pavement repairs, a 2-inch resurfacing of the roadway, guardrail upgrades, sign replacements, and a box culvert replacement. The pipe replacement portion of the project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting. Contractor Pace Construction has been awarded the $2,501,500 project, which is anticipated to be finished by December 1, 2026.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling near work zones. MoDOT reminds drivers to slow down, stay alert, and obey all traffic signs and flaggers.
