Southeast Toyota Distributors, the world's largest independent distributor of Toyotas, today celebrated the dedication of its new state-of-the-art vehicle processing facility at the Jacksonville Port Authority's (JAXPORT's) Blount Island Marine Terminal. This milestone represents a major investment in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida while further strengthening the company's commitment to support Toyota, its dealers and customers across the Southeast.
"For Southeast Toyota Distributors, days like this are especially meaningful because they represent where we started and where we're going," said Brent Sergot, president of Southeast Toyota Distributors. "We are a dealer driven organization and these investments are about making sure we continue to support our dealers in the best way possible. Facilities like this position us to support Toyota's continued growth while strengthening our ability to serve our dealer network and its incredible customers."
Spanning more than 380,000 square feet across seven buildings on 88 acres, the facility will process, accessorize and distribute vehicles to the 178 Toyota dealers served by Southeast Toyota Distributors across its five-state region. Built for efficiency, the new center can process approximately 4,000 vehicles per week, nearly double what was processed in the previous facility, and supports more than 400 full-time jobs, with 95 percent of the workforce hired locally.
The expansion is part of Southeast Toyota Distributors' broader DRIVE initiative, a multi-phased investment strategy designed to modernize operations, enhance flexibility and position the company for future growth.
Representing a combined economic investment of $170 million, the facility was designed to improve supply chain efficiency and enhance the flow of vehicles arriving by rail, sea and road through JAXPORT.
"We're grateful for the support of Governor DeSantis and FDOT, as well as our long-standing partnership with Southeast Toyota Distributors, one of our longest-running tenants," said Eric Green, CEO of JAXPORT. "This state-of-the-art facility strengthens Jacksonville's position as a premier vehicle-handling port in the Southeastern U.S., supporting quality jobs and economic opportunity for our region and state."
The dedication of the Blount Island vehicle processing facility reflects Southeast Toyota Distributors' deep roots in Jacksonville and its long-term confidence in the community it has called home for decades. While the facility represents continued operational growth, it also serves as an investment in the associates who will bring it to life each day and whose work will define its success for years to come.
As Southeast Toyota Distributors looks to the future, the Blount Island facility stands as both a symbol of continued growth and a renewed investment in the people who power its operations every day, the Toyota dealers in the region and the customers they serve.
