On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 5th Conference of the Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.
The Ambassador underscored the role of CEAPAD in supporting Palestine's development, while expressing concern over the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to promote technical cooperation alongside humanitarian assistance through international organizations. The Ambassador also reaffirmed Thailand's support for the peaceful resolution of the Israeli - Palestinian conflict based on the two-State solution, with a view to achieving a just and lasting peace.
The meeting was co-hosted by Japan and the Philippines, and the Minister of Social Development of the State of Palestine was also in attendance. The meeting aims to promote cooperation among East Asian countries in supporting Palestine's development in various areas.
