April 23, 2026 - Harrisburg, PA
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike) will host a media event urging drivers to slow down and pay attention in work zones as part of National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW).
The event will also include representatives from the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC). Additionally, PennDOT Franklin County Maintenance Manager Robert "Bobby" Bingaman and PA Turnpike District 2 Superintendent Erik Hickle will share their firsthand experiences with close calls in in work zones.
Students from across the state will also be in attendance displaying innovative work zone safety solutions as part of the annual PennDOT Innovations Challenge.

WHERE: Keystone Building, 400 North Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120. The public entrance is on North Street. Enter through the doors and head up the stone steps to the Atrium on the Plaza Level. Elevators are available to the right or left, if needed. Take the elevator to the Plaza Level (PL) and upon exiting, follow signs to the Plaza.
