Take Care of Texas begins third year of Ambassador Program

Take Care of Texas has selected 18 educators to participate in the third year of the Take Care of Texas Ambassador Program. The goal is to equip educators with knowledge and resources to spread awareness of the Take Care of Texas program with colleagues and administrators.

The ambassadors are K-12 science educators who are passionate about protecting the Texas environment and willing to provide feedback on the curriculum to improve educational resources. Over the 2026-2027 school year, the ambassadors will utilize provided lesson plans and share information about the program and its contests with colleagues and students across the state.

The 2026-2027 class of ambassadors is as follows:

  • Aubrey Conklin, Fort Worth Museum School
  • Chloe Ates, Odyssey Academy
  • Claire Collop, Adamson High School
  • Dustin Perez, Robert L. Crippen Elementary
  • Greg Fore, Young Women's STEAM Academy
  • Holly Larkin, Edna Intermediate School
  • Jamie Arlt, Girl Scouts, GSSJC
  • Joy Tuxhorn, Young Women's Leadership Academy
  • Keira Quam, Texas Parks and Wildlife
  • Keke Powell, Sunfield Elementary School
  • Kelly Fefel, Corpus Christi Catholic School
  • Kristian Torres, Vista del Sol Environmental Science Academy
  • Maria Luisa Cardenas, Miguel Carrillo Jr. Elementary School
  • Nina Corley, O'Connell College Preparatory School
  • Ronna Clawson, Walt Disney Elementary School
  • Seleta Andrus, Coyle Middle School
  • Susan Cooper, Georgetown High School
