BEAM Technologies Selected for NEDO's SBIR Promotion Program (Integrated Type, Phase 1)

BEAM Technologies has been selected for NEDO's SBIR Promotion Program (Integrated Type, Phase 1) for its R&D theme, "Establishing Supply Technology for High-Quality Compound Semiconductor Substrates through Seed Crystal Growth in Space and Bulk Manufacturing on Earth." The project will develop a two-step process in which high-quality seed crystals grown in microgravity are used to grow large-diameter bulk crystals on the ground, supporting a domestic supply of substrates for advanced devices such as infrared sensors and high-frequency communications. In Phase 1, BEAM will establish evaluation methods for space-grown seed crystals, verify their applicability to terrestrial bulk growth, and assess the supply structure and business feasibility.
