Earthjustice Calls on Congress to Hold the Department of Homeland Security Accountable

Earthjustice Responds to the Trump Administration's Recent Attacks Against Civilians

In response to the Trump administration's attacks against civilians in Minnesota, Earthjustice president Abigail Dillen issued the following statement:

"The administration continues to target communities in Minnesota and beyond. It is punishing people that disagree with its policies. It is waging a campaign of terror against immigrant communities. It is illegally imprisoning, assaulting, and even killing people. And it is lying about its actions in the face of irrefutable evidence. We stand in solidarity with the people who have been harmed by the policies and actions of this administration across the country.

"We are an organization whose mission is rooted in the rule of law and the right of people and communities to use our legal structure to protect and expand our rights to clean air, water, and healthy communities."

"Our leaders must step up and rein in this administration. We urge Congress to use the appropriations process to pass legislation that holds the Department of Homeland Security and its officials accountable, to demilitarize communities, and to investigate and prosecute law enforcement personnel who break the law."
