Foul Weather Shelter will be activated on Dec. 23
The City of Ventura, in partnership with River Community Church, will activate the Foul Weather Shelter Program on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, due to forecasted inclement weather.
A total of 40 motel rooms have been reserved for individuals 62+ and/or with chronic medical conditions. Motel rooms are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals not placed in a room will receive a stay-warm kit.
Intake Location:
River Community Church
859 E. Santa Clara Street, Ventura, CA 93001
Recommended Arrival Time:
• Line-up may begin at 4:00 PM
• Intake recommended between 5:00-6:00 PM
Staff from River Community Church, the County of Ventura, and Downtown Ventura Partners will conduct intake and screening. Transportation to the motel will be provided once intake is complete.
Based on current weather forecasts, shelter services are expected to continue through Friday, December 26, 2025.
