Aurora Public Library and Aurora Fox Arts Center launch “One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage” bridging the love of reading and theatre

Aurora Public Library and the Aurora Fox Arts Center launched today "One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage," a community-wide initiative encouraging residents to read Mark Haddon's acclaimed novel, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," and to experience the Aurora Fox's stage production of the novel, running from March 21 to April 13. The program features a series of engaging events aimed at fostering community connection and promoting awareness and support for individuals in the autistic community through inclusive programming and partnerships.

Beginning today, library patrons can check out the book as a digital or physical copy and start reading. The library will offer book a book discussion on March 1. Details about the different events taking place are below:

Open rehearsal, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, Aurora Fox Arts Center, 9900 E. Colfax Ave.
Join a special open rehearsal of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," a play by Simon Stephens based on Haddon's novel. This behind-the-scenes opportunity lets attendees observe blocking and ask the actors and director questions about the production process. Attendees will be included in a raffle for a chance to win free tickets to the Aurora Fox Arts Center's production taking place March 21 to April 13.

Book discussion, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1, Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway.
Join a discussion "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon. Attendees will be included in a raffle for free tickets to the Aurora Fox Arts Center's production taking place March 21 to April 13.

Meet the cast, noon to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 8, Tallyn's Reach Library, 23911 E. Arapahoe Road. Join Richard Cowden, director of the Aurora Fox's production of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," along with key cast members as they discuss the challenges and rewards associated with bringing the literary adaptation of Mark Haddon's beloved novel to the Aurora Fox stage. Come with questions and enter for a chance to win free tickets to the show taking place March 21 to April 13 at Aurora Fox Arts Center.

Reception and performance, 2 p.m., Sunday, March 23, Aurora Fox Arts Center. Wrap up "One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage" with a special reception before the performance from 1 to 1:45 p.m., in the Studio Theatre. Resource fair, March 21 to 23, Aurora Fox Arts Center. Experience a resource fair with community organizations such as Autism Community Store and Phamaly Theatre Company: 6:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22; 1 to 5 pm., Sunday, March 23.
