Ready to Change the World: Dat Duong

Meet Dat Duong, a 2025 graduate from the College of Natural Sciences. Dat's world-changing contributions began in high school, where he worked with mental health and suicide prevention organizations. These experiences led to Dat receiving an Impact Scholarship, which is awarded to students across the state who make a significant impact in their communities. Dat's Impact Scholarship, along with his scholarship from the Terry Foundation, helped him to fulfill his goal of earning a degree in public health.

"Finding community and understanding what collective action means - especially moving the needle on special projects and initiatives - those are the moments at UT when I found myself most engaged with my community and proactive with what I'm doing," Dat said.

Watch Dat's full interview below to learn more about his journey and how he's changing the world.
