Senator Marshall Completes 120 Stops Across 59 Kansas Counties

Olathe - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), wrapped up his "120 Stops to Strengthen Rural Kansas" Tour, traveling across 59 Kansas counties during the August recess to meet directly with Kansans and highlight the people, industries, and policies that are strengthening communities across the state.

Over the course of the tour, Senator Marshall visited hospitals and healthcare providers, manufacturers, family farms and ranches, small businesses, technical schools, community organizations, local leaders, and Kansans working every day to keep rural communities strong.

"Over the past month, I've traveled to 59 counties and made 120 stops across our great state. I've sat down with farmers and ranchers, doctors and nurses, manufacturers, small business owners, and families to hear what's happening in their communities," said Senator Marshall. "We've got a lot to be proud of - from cutting taxes for working families and growing Kansas manufacturing to delivering real resources for our rural hospitals. But there's still work to do. I'm going back to Washington with what I heard from Kansans, and I'll keep fighting to deliver results for the people who sent me there."

Senator Marshall wrapped up the tour at the Kansas State Fair, where he participated in a Kansas agriculture leadership breakfast hosted Kansas Farm Bureau, the voice of Kansas agriculture. He discussed his time working in agriculture as a child and his continued fight to get the Farm Bill across the finish line, which includes 23 Kansas priorities authored by Senator Marshall.

Throughout the tour, Senator Marshall highlighted key deliverables that are helping strengthen Kansas communities and create new opportunities across the state, including:

• Working Families Tax Cuts: Senator Marshall highlighted the tax relief now putting more money back in Kansans' pockets, including No Tax on Overtime legislation he authored and fought to include in the final bill, as well as no tax on tips, full expensing for domestic research and development, and a permanent 20% small business deduction. These provisions are helping Kansas workers keep more of their paychecks while giving farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, and Main Street businesses more resources to invest, expand, and hire.
• Growing Kansas Manufacturing: Senator Marshall highlighted how new tax provisions, including 100% bonus depreciation and full expensing, are helping Kansas manufacturers immediately write off investments in new machinery and equipment. Those incentives are making it easier for Kansas companies to expand their facilities, invest in their workforce, and bring more manufacturing jobs home.
• Strengthening Rural Health Care: Senator Marshall highlighted more than $220 million in Rural Health Transformation funding coming to Kansas, supporting rural hospitals and providers with resources to expand access, recruit and retain health care workers, improve technology and patient care, and keep more Kansans from having to travel hours for treatment.
• Supporting Kansas Agriculture: Senator Marshall heard directly from farmers and ranchers about the need for a stronger farm safety net and greater certainty. He highlighted his fight for crop insurance, higher reference prices, year-round E15, rural broadband, childcare, and farmers' mental health, including 23 Kansas priorities he brought directly into the Farm Bill.
• Investing in Rural Communities: Senator Marshall also highlighted investments in infrastructure, workforce development, and rural economic growth, including expanded access to private capital for rural communities and small businesses and greater opportunities for Kansans pursuing technical and skilled-trades education.

The "120 Stops to Strengthen Rural Kansas" Tour built on Senator Marshall's commitment to meeting Kansans where they are and ensuring that the voices of rural communities are heard in Washington.

From one end of Kansas to the other, the tour reinforced his message that strong rural communities make up a stronger Kansas.
