Published on November 05, 2026

Storm readiness starts now. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 100% chance of a very strong El Niño event through the fall and winter and a 50-60% chance of heavier-than-normal rain from December through February. In this community update, we are answering community questions heard at the Open House such as how to stay informed, best practices to fill and use sandbags, steps to take at home, status of infrastructure projects supporting flood prevention and protections, and ways neighbors can help one another.
