Statement on Restoration of Federal Funding for the Gateway Program

Our statement from Carlo A. Scissura, Esq., President and CEO of the New York Building Congress on the restoration of federal funding for the Gateway Program:

"This is tremendous news, and I am sure our partners at the Gateway Development Commission can't get this influx of $205 million out the door fast enough to resume construction! It remains so silly that we had to pause work and go court to get the federal government to fulfill its obligations. A project of this magnitude needs steady, reliable funding to ensure on-time, on-budget completion. Let's avoid any more costly and ridiculous interruptions by taking the politics out of what will be one of the most impactful infrastructure projects this country has ever seen. We look forward to seeing thousands of working-class union laborers back on the job next week doing what they're meant to do - building our nation forward."
