SH-55 closed between Banks and Smiths Ferry
BANKS - State Highway 55 was closed in both directions for 19 miles north of Banks shortly after midnight due to wildfire activity in the area.
Travelers should avoid the area and use an alternate route. The closure is necessary to allow firefighters and emergency personnel to safely continue operations along the highway.
Travel conditions may change as fire activity evolves, and motorists are reminded to check Idaho 511 for the latest road conditions and closures.
