LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Turning Point USA Chairwoman and CEO Erika Kirk today attended a Turning Point USA pep rally at Arkansas Christian Academy and announced a partnership between the State of Arkansas and Turning Point USA to bring TPUSA Club America chapters to Arkansas high schools.
"Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to empowering young Americans to stand up for faith, freedom, and the principles our country was founded on," said Governor Sanders. "I had the privilege of calling Charlie a friend and seeing firsthand the movement he built. Bringing Club America chapters to Arkansas high schools will help continue that mission and inspire the next generation of leaders."
Earlier in the day, Governor Sanders joined students at Arkansas Christian Academy in Bryant to celebrate the school's newly launched Club America chapter during a campus pep rally highlighting student leadership, civic engagement, and the importance of faith and freedom in American life.
Following the school event, Governor Sanders and Erika Kirk held a press conference at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion where the Governor signed a proclamation formalizing her administration's support for Turning Point USA and encouraging Arkansas high schools and colleges to support student-led civic organizations. A copy of the proclamation is available here.
Turning Point USA was founded in 2012 by conservative activist Charlie Kirk and has grown into one of the nation's largest youth movements focused on educating young Americans about free markets, limited government, and American ideals. Following Charlie Kirk's tragic murder last year, the organization has continued expanding his mission to empower the next generation of leaders.
Turning Point USA's Club America program brings that mission directly to high schools through student-led chapters that promote civic dialogue, leadership, and engagement with American founding principles. The organization is currently represented on more than 3,500 campuses nationwide, including more than 1,200 high school Club America chapters.
Through the partnership announced today, state leaders and Turning Point USA aim to expand Club America chapters across Arkansas and ensure students have opportunities to engage in civic leadership while learning the principles of freedom, limited government, and the American founding.
