The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Region 6 Office of Conservation Investment (OCI) has adopted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) prepared Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) titled, Department of the Army Environmental Assessment and Statement of Findings (SPK-2022-00476) , for the Utah MBA Saratoga North Marina Improvements Project (Project), in Utah County, Utah.
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources submitted a grant application request for the Utah MBA Saratoga North Marina Improvements Project (F25AF02146; F-261-B-1) to the Service's OCI for review and approval to receive federal grant funds through the Sport Fish Restoration Grant Program, administered by the Service. The Service's decision to approve the proposed grant application and fund construction and installation improvements at the Saratoga North Marina on Utah Lake constitutes a federal action subject to the requirement of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The assessment prepared by the lead federal agency, USACE, defined the Project purpose and need, described the range of alternatives considered, and evaluated the effects of each alternative, including the impacts associated with the action proposed for grant funding. A public notice was published on behalf of the USACE on February 20, 2024, with a 30-day comment period from February 20, 2024 through March 20, 2024.
The Service has adopted USACE's Final EA and has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) available online for download. Those without internet access may request copies by mail to: Office of Conservation Investment, Attn: Samantha Cooke P.O. Box 25486, Denver Federal Center Denver, CO 80225. Thank you for your interest in this Project.
