Hannah Kahleh is proof that hard work, persistence and a commitment to excellence pays off. The junior finance major was recently awarded the prestigious Finance Executives International (FEI) Scholarship.

The scholarship provides financial assistance and professional opportunities to outstanding college students in accounting and finance, particularly those who demonstrate strong academic achievement and leadership potential.

A problem-solver at heart, Hannah has always enjoyed working with numbers and understanding how things work behind the scenes.

"During college, I've balanced academics, leadership, and work experience, which helped shape my interest in finance. I see finance not just as numbers, but as a tool that helps people and organizations grow and make thoughtful decisions," shared the HCU finance major.

She was drawn to finance because of its practical and challenging nature and real-world impact and hopes to use her training in a career centered on helping others.

HCU Finance Professor Yongli Luo commends Hannah for her leadership skills and commitment to a standard of excellence in her academic studies.

"Our HCU finance student, Hannah Kahleh, exemplifies exceptional leadership and dedication through significant campus involvement and consistent academic excellence, earning honors on the Dean's List from 2023 to 2025. Beyond her academic accomplishments, she is deeply committed to community service and faith-based mentorship," said Dr. Luo.

Hannah not only exhibits strong leadership skills and dedication to her studies, she also is committed to growing spiritually and helping others to do the same by teaching Bible lessons, leading prayers and guiding young children.

"My faith has been the biggest influence on my journey. It has shaped how I approach challenges, stay disciplined and trust the process even during difficult seasons," she shared.

"I recognize that none of this would be possible without God. His guidance has given me the discipline, strength and perseverance to stay focused and continue striving toward my goals."

Her father, Saleim Kahleh, HCU's Campus Minister, expressed pride and appreciation for his daughter's academic success and the doors that HCU opened to support students in their educational journeys.

"I thank God for my daughter Hannah Joy and her work ethic that honors the Lord. We thank the Lord Jesus for His faithfulness to honor my daughter, and the grace to bless her with this scholarship! I am so proud of her! HCU opens many doors for these blessings!"

For Hannah, who works part-time while pursuing her degree, the $6,000 scholarship will help her to finish her studies.

"Receiving the FEI Scholarship means so much to me. Personally, it helps relieve financial stress and allows me to focus more fully on my education. Professionally, it's encouraging to know that my hard work and commitment are being recognized. It motivates me to continue pushing myself and making the most of the opportunities in front of me," said Hannah.

Preparing to graduate in May 2027, she appreciates the many professors who encouraged and mentored her and shared their knowledge to help her grow both personally and academically.

Her advice to other students is simple: "You can truly do anything you put your mind to."

"There will be times when the process feels overwhelming, but don't give up. Do everything you can, stay disciplined, and keep showing up and then put the rest in God's hands. Many opportunities come when you stay persistent and trust the process."
