Lewiston, N.Y. - Max Helgeson and Matt Johnson each tallied one goal and one assist for Alaska Anchorage in a 6-2 loss at Niagara Friday.
Jay Ahearn scored first for Niagara with a goal off a rebound at 1:18 of the first period.
Max Helgeson tied the game at 1-1 with a turnaround shot at 4:19.
The Purple Eagles scored their second goal of the game on a rebound at 11:50.
Max Helgeson created a turnover behind NU's net and found Matt Johnson in front who scored 11 seconds into the second period.
Niagara scored three goals in the second period, including two on the powerplay, and concluded the scoring with its sixth goal of the game with 18 seconds left in the third.
Niagara out-shot Alaska Anchorage and held the Seawolves scoreless on their two power-play chances.
UAA and NU will battle again Saturday at 3 p.m.
