SEATTLE - Attorney General Nick Brown released the following statement today on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) move to gut climate regulations:
"As Washington battles wildfires and the nation swelters under extreme heat, Donald Trump and his EPA want to gut the rules regulating harmful climate pollution. The endangerment finding that EPA wants to undo is a sound, science-based finding that greenhouse gases 'endanger the public health and public welfare of current and future generations.' If the president is successful, that danger will still exist. The federal government just won't do anything about it. My office has been aware this was in the works, and I will consider all options if EPA continues down this cynical path. We won't stand by as our children's future is sacrificed to appease fossil fuel interests."
