The Office of the Provost's Faculty Diversity team, in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Assessment, Survey, and Effectiveness Research (ASER), will host two faculty forums centered on classroom equity action plans this fall. The first forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 3-4:30 p.m., followed by the second on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 9-10:30 a.m. Both events will take place in the Great Hall on the second floor of Old Chapel.

The forums are designed to create a platform for faculty members across various departments to discuss their progress, share their thoughts and concerns, and learn about effective strategies and best practices for implementing equity actions in the classroom. The goal is to empower each faculty member, department and college to foster equity, belonging, and connectedness among students. Participants are encouraged to bring their unique experiences to the table and contribute to a collaborative discourse on teaching excellence.

Additionally, faculty members will have the opportunity to discuss any challenges they may be facing. Dedicated teams from CTL and ASER will be available to provide guidance, answer specific action items, and share valuable resources and information, and participants can also connect with ongoing discussions in the plan's Microsoft Teams channel.

All UMass Amherst faculty members engaged in Classroom Equity Action Plan initiatives are invited to participate in these forums by dropping in at any time during either forum.

Online registration for the Oct. 14 forum is currently open, and those interested are encouraged to RSVP. More information about the Classroom Equity Action Plan and the forums, can be found on the Office of the Provost website.
