System Event to mark the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk

The Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, held in Gdańsk on 25 and 26 June, provided an opportunity to bring together all the components of Italian 'Sistema Paese' - the government, institutions, public agencies, business associations, companies, financial institutions, co-operation sector, international bodies and civil society organisations - at a system event attended by over 130 participants, organised by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Trade Agency's Office in Warsaw in collaboration with the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Task Force for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
During the event, opened with a speech by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Maria Tripodi, has been screened a video message from Minister Tajani, in which he reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting Ukraine and its reconstruction as part of the country's path towards accession to the European Union.

For Sistema Italia, the Conference represents a significant step forward in the process launched as a follow-up to the URC 2025 in Rome, with the aim of strengthening the involvement of Italian businesses, leverage available financial and insurance instruments, and promoting concrete partnerships with Ukrainian institutions and operators.

Poland remains a key hub for this strategy, both because of the role it plays in organising the URC 2026 and because of its function as a regional platform for reconstruction-related initiatives. This context also includes Italy's confirmed participation in ReBuild Ukraine, scheduled to take place in Warsaw in November, which will see the presence of the Sistema Italia community further strengthened.

The system event served as a platform for dialogue between institutions, businesses and cooperation stakeholders, reaffirming the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to supporting businesses and its coordinating role on this issue, starting with the Interministerial Reconstruction Working Group, launched by Minister Tajani in early 2023, which strengthens Italy's capacity to contribute to Ukraine's recovery through industrial expertise, financial instruments, project planning and long-term partnerships.
