Proceeds to support renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure in Greece
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) has invested EUR 15 million as an anchor investor in the EUR 140 million bond issuance of AKTOR Group, a leading Greek construction company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. BSTDB's participation contributed to the successful execution of the transaction and supported the mobilisation of additional private-sector financing.
The bond issuance will support AKTOR Group's business expansion and enhance its financial sustainability. The proceeds will be primarily allocated to renewable energy projects, as well as to the Group's activities in construction, facility management, real estate, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and concessions. AKTOR intends to direct the majority of the funds to its operations in Greece, with a strong focus on renewable energy sources (RES).

By taking a leading role in this transaction, the Bank contributes to strengthening investor confidence and attracting additional market participation. The investment supports AKTOR Group's strategic focus on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, while reinforcing its financial resilience. The majority of BSTDB's contribution will support the Group's activities in Greece, particularly in renewable energy projects, contributing to the country's energy transition and long-term economic development.", said Dr. Serhat Köksal, President of BSTDB.
