Brook Con filled Stony Brook's Student Activities Center on April 19 with fans, cosplayers, artists and gamers attending the popular student-run anime and pop culture convention.

The annual event is run by Animated Perspectives, the anime club at Stony Brook University, with participation from numerous clubs and organizations. The one-day convention offered a unique experience in anime and fandom culture, featuring art, panels, cosplay, vendors and several performances, including the "Brook Con Live!" show.

Panels included Karaoke (hosted by the Sci-Fi Forum), Cats in Anime (Cat Network), Visual Novel Intro (Game Development and Design Club - GDDC), Pokemon Trivia (Pokemon Go Club), Manga Page Creation (Comic Book Club), DIY CSSA (Chinese Students and Scholars Association - CSSA), and Chikagei (Kaigai Idols at SBU). The Art Club hosted Artist Alley.

Performers included the KBS Dance Team, Taiko Tides, Flow, Kendo, Starry With: U, and Stony Breakers. The Vendor Hall was sponsored by Cat Network, CSSA and the Crochet Club.

Brook Con is non-profit and student-run with the support of Undergraduate Student Government at SBU funding and the help of volunteers.
