As part of an ongoing investigation, the Winnipeg Police Service Child Abuse Unit was alerted to two separate incidents that occurred at a high school in the Louis Riel School Division.

Both incidents were captured on surveillance video and reported to police on December 1, 2025. Nobody was threatened or injured in either incident.

  • On November 20, 2025, after school hours, a man entered the school. He wandered the school and took a laptop from a vacant classroom. He exited the school without being detected. As staff were later reviewing video surveillance, they discovered this incident and reported it to police on December 1, 2025.
  • On November 27, 2025, during school hours when students were present, a man entered the same school. He wandered the first and second floor of the school until staff discovered him and escorted him off the premises. Police were not contacted at the time, but the incident was later reported on December 1, 2025.

On December 9, 2025, investigators attended to the Provincial Remand Centre and re-arrested 28-year-old Scott William GEORGE on the strength of a warrant.

He has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children x 2

GEORGE remains in custody.
