    • Atmos Energy offers rebates or discounts to our customers in Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of Texas on purchases of high-efficiency natural gas appliances, energy-saving devices, and home weatherization improvements. Visit www.atmosenergy.com/rebates for details.

Follow these safety tips for winter.

Inspect your natural gas appliances and piping.* In most states, except Kansas, you are responsible for the natural gas piping on your property from our gas meter to your home or business. As the owner of gas appliances and piping in your home, it's your responsibility to schedule regular inspections and maintenance. Doing so helps prevent hazards and ensures optimal performance.

  • Always operate and maintain gas appliances according to manufacturer instructions to help keep your home safe and improve energy efficiency.
  • Confirm that smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors are in good working condition.
  • Make sure snow and ice from the roof do not fall on or cover your gas meter.
  • Visit our website for more winter safety recommendations.

When extreme cold is forecast, Atmos Energy will closely monitor weather conditions and deploy qualified, well-prepared personnel throughout our system. We will keep customers and communities informed before, during, and after any extreme weather event. In addition to signing up for text alerts, follow us on Facebook, X, Instagram, and visit atmosenergy.com for more information on safety and weather preparedness.

Smell gas? Act fast! If you suspect a natural gas leak, immediately leave the area and, from a safe distance, call 911 and the Atmos Energy emergency number at 866.322.8667, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

*If you purchase metered gas from Atmos Energy for resale through a distribution pipeline system to your tenants, you may be considered a "master meter" operator as defined in 49 CFR 191.3 or state statute, which may require your system to meet additional codes and standards. Contact your state natural gas regulator if you have any questions.
