Public Meeting Notice: National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program Grant Opportunity
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) invites businesses, commercial property owners, and other interested parties to a virtual public meeting on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM to discuss the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program grant opportunity. This meeting will outline requirements to apply for the grant and highlight commercial property owner partnership opportunities.
DDOT will solicit detailed proposals from eligible entities to install, operate, and maintain federally compliant Direct Current (DC) fast charging stations along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) in the District. The total funding available is $9.6 million. The Grant Applicant is required to provide a match of 20% of the total price proposal.
The District is committed to becoming carbon neutral and climate resilient by 2045. The NEVI Program's goal is to build a reliable and accessible fast charging network in the District to make it easier for residents to choose zero-emission vehicles by reducing range anxiety. Additionally, transportation-related emissions remain one of the leading contributors to air pollution in the District, and Programs like this directly support the District's goals to reduce vehicle emissions for a cleaner and healthier DC.
Please refer to the full Request for Applications (RFA) for a detailed list of requirements. The RFA will be available on Monday, March 30, 2026, and listed in the District Grants Clearinghouse on the Office of Partnerships and Grant Services website. The submission deadline is May 26, 2026, by 5:00 PM. Additional information on the deployment plan can be found on the District's NEVI website: nevi.ddot.dc.gov.
