Storm Alert – Winter Storm Hernando – February 24, 2026

Winter Storm Hernando brought severe conditions to the Northeast, with snowfalls exceeding 30 inches in some areas and maximum wind speeds of 90 mph. At its peak, the storm left 650,000 without power, though recovery efforts today have successfully lowered current outages to half that level.

Locals are monitoring another snowstorm that could add more snow on top of the existing snow and ice, delaying refueling efforts. At this time, many fleets are operational across the Northeast, and refueling efforts are underway. For locations ordering fuel, remember to:

  • Ensure tanks are accessible and clear of snow and ice.
  • Communicate any changes in fuel delivery needs to your Mansfield representative.
  • Note if any equipment is currently impacted by power outages.

With the area rapidly bounding back following the storm, Mansfield has moved the following states off alert: New York, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Mansfield remains on Code Orange, requesting a 48-hour delivery notice for new orders, in the following states: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts. Please note that in some areas with lighter storm impacts, deliveries may be possible within a shorter delivery window.
