Tucson, AZ - Rep. Juan Ciscomani proudly announced his appointment as Vice Chairman of the newly-launched Military and Veteran Housing Caucus (MVHC), a coalition fiercely committed to expanding access to affordable housing and aggressively strengthening homeownership opportunities for America's servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
Representing nearly 80,000 veterans across Arizona's Sixth Congressional District, Rep. Ciscomani has made improving veterans' quality of life an unwavering priority in Congress. As a member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, he has been a relentless champion for strengthening the VA Home Loan program and forcefully eliminating barriers that prevent veterans and military families from achieving the American Dream of homeownership. The caucus will serve as a driving force to advance bold policies that modernize veterans' housing benefits.
"Owning a home remains a cornerstone of the American Dream, and for our military families, it represents stability after years of sacrifice and service to our nation," said Rep. Ciscomani. "After multiple deployments and duty stations, a home gives military children the opportunity to build lasting friendships, allows families to put down roots, and creates the stability every family deserves. As Vice Chairman of the Military and Veteran Housing Caucus, I'll continue fighting to expand access to affordable housing, strengthen the VA Home Loan program, and ensure every servicemember, veteran, and military family has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream of homeownership."
"America's servicemembers and veterans have answered the call to serve our nation, and Congress has a responsibility to ensure they have every opportunity to achieve lasting financial security and homeownership. I am proud to launch the bipartisan Military & Veteran Housing Caucus alongside Co-Chair Congresswoman Susie Lee and grateful to Congressmen Juan Ciscomani, Tom Suozzi, Dale Strong, and Gil Cisneros for serving as our Vice Chairs. This bipartisan leadership team reflects our shared commitment to advancing practical solutions that strengthen financial readiness, expand access to homeownership, improve military-to-civilian transitions, and address the unique housing challenges facing servicemembers, veterans, and military families. Together, we will work across committee jurisdictions to increase awareness of existing benefits, including the VA Home Loan Program, and develop policies that ensure those who have served our nation have every opportunity to build lasting economic security and achieve the American Dream," said Rep. Pete Sessions, Chairman of the Military and Veteran Housing Caucus.
The caucus announcement was welcomed by Nick Franco, a Veteran and Realtor in Tucson:
"Working directly with veterans in my civilian career, I've seen the unique challenges they often face and the resources that too often go underutilized, especially when it comes to education," said Franco. "Rep. Ciscomani's leadership in bringing these important conversations to the forefront conversations had in Congress critical. Our veterans have earned these benefits through their faithful service, and we have a responsibility to make sure they know about them, can access them, and are set up to succeed long after they take off the uniform."
Rep. Juan Ciscomani has been a tireless advocate for our nation's veterans in Congress, leading efforts to modernize the VA Home Loan program through his role on the House Veterans Affairs Committee. As a leader of H.R. 8532, the VA Home Loan Affordability Act, Ciscomani worked to cut unnecessary bureaucratic barriers and streamline the homebuying process ensuring VA home loan benefits reflect today's housing market.
Building on that work, this week he also cosponsored the bipartisan Home Loan Navigator Act (H.R. 9404) to connect veterans with trusted housing counselors, giving them the guidance they need to confidently navigate their hard-earned benefits and find the right place to call home.
