News 06 November 2025 IOM and Qatar Charity Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Global Humanitarian Response

Doha, 6 November 2025- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Qatar Charity have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a comprehensive framework to strengthen emergency response and support vulnerable populations worldwide. The agreement was formalized by IOM Chief of Staff Mohammed Abdiker and Chief Executive Officer Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari of Qatar Charity.

"This partnership represents a pivotal moment in our collective effort to protect the world's most vulnerable communities," said IOM Chief of Staff Mohammed Abdiker. "By combining our resources and expertise, we can deliver faster, more effective responses while building pathways toward lasting solutions that restore dignity and create opportunities for displaced populations."

The partnership will deliver coordinated humanitarian assistance across health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and healthcare while strengthening protection mechanisms for communities affected by conflict and displacement. It will advance sustainable development through integrated programming in livelihoods, education, and economic empowerment, bridging humanitarian responses with long-term solutions.

Both organizations will collaborate on capacity building initiatives to enhance the skills and resources of institutions and frontline actors, improving preparedness and resilience. The agreement emphasizes advocacy and knowledge exchange to amplify the voices of displaced communities and promote evidence-based policies. A joint working group will oversee implementation and ensure alignment with shared objectives.

The MoU, effective for three years with provisions for renewal, represents a shared vision for swift, coordinated humanitarian action and sustainable solutions that empower communities to thrive.
