GCEDC Touts Partnership as Core to its Mission

During his presentation, Konduros outlined GCEDC's core mission and values, informed by Greenville's residents, business owners and elected officials. Those tenants come down to seven key points:

  • Upstate innovation: Bring Greenville entrepreneurs, innovators and investors together in a best-in-class entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Investment for the future: Attract new investment to diversify Greenville's economy and foster prosperity.
  • A launching pad for talent: Build and support a talent base of "doers, thinkers and makers."
  • A place for everybody: Ensure all Greenville residents and enterprises can thrive, making diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) an economic development goal.
  • Maintain livability: Rely on GVL2040 to address housing affordability, transportation and mobility.
  • Intentional placemaking: Preserve and celebrate Greenville as a preeminent lifestyle destination.
  • Effective implementation: Adopt an economic development organizational structure that supports the implementation of this strategy.

SCEDA is a leading organization for economic developers in the state, with more than 600 members participating in professional development, legislative advocacy and networking activities.

Konduros, hired to lead GCEDC in March, brings extensive experience in economic development and private business. A licensed attorney, he's held multiple business leadership roles regionally and statewide, including president/CEO of Upstate SC Alliance and president/CEO of SCBio (South Carolina Biotechnology Industry Organization).
