Augusta, ME - June 5, 2026 - Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc is recognizing the hard work of its fleet team in honor of Automotive Service Professionals Month. National Automotive Service Professionals Day will be observed on Friday, June 12.
CMP's fleet division is made up of 16 team members who maintain more than 800 company vehicles and trailers, including bucket trucks used to build and maintain Maine's electric grid and respond to outages during extreme weather across CMP's 11,000 square mile service territory.
"Behind every CMP vehicle is a dedicated team of skilled professionals keeping our fleet running strong across Maine," said Linda Ball, President and CEO of Central Maine Power. "Their expertise is what keeps our company and our state moving. Our lineworkers and field crews rely on these vehicles to reach customers, restore outages, and strengthen the grid across rugged coastal and mountainous terrain. Whether it's routine maintenance or urgent repairs during storm response, this work is critical and often happens behind the scenes. We recognize and thank our fleet team for their hard work, craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to supporting our crews and serving our customers every day."
In addition to bucket trucks, CMP operates a wide range of specialized vehicles used for tasks such as setting utility poles and transporting large substation equipment.
"Maine's conditions demand more than just tough equipment, they demand a fleet team that's always one step ahead," said Scott Jerauld, Manager of Fleet Services at CMP. "From early mornings to late-night storm response, this team ensures every vehicle and piece of equipment is ready when our crews need it most. This work is essential to everything we do. I'm incredibly proud of their dedication, skill, and commitment to keeping our crews moving and our customers connected, no matter what Maine throws our way."
CMP's fleet division operates from facilities in Portland and Augusta, with satellite sites in Lewiston and Fairfield, serving approximately 670,000 customers across its service area.
