Registered Nurses, Customer Service Representatives and Retail Salespersons are the Top Jobs in February

MONTGOMERY - Data collected and analyzed by the Alabama Department of Workforce's Labor Market Information (LMI) Division shows that in February 2026, there were 104,060 job ads posted in Alabama, representing a monthly increase of 9,864 ads or 10.5% over the month. This also shows an 11.7% increase over the year from February 2025.

The five occupations with the most online job ads are for Registered Nurses, Customer Service Representatives, Retail Salespersons, General and Operations Managers and Fast Food and Counter Workers with 9,636 ads placed for those occupations in February.

In February 2026, the median advertised wage was $57,605 per year. There were 0.54 candidates for every one job opening in February 2026.

"February's online job ads highlight continued strength and momentum in Alabama's economy, with industries predicting growth across critical sectors like healthcare, retail, and customer service," said Workforce Secretary Greg Reed. "The future of Alabama's workforce is bright, as industry recognizes Alabama's potential and is responding in kind. The increase in job postings, along with rising advertised wages, signals strong opportunities for job seekers while reinforcing the need to further develop our workforce pipeline," Reed continued.

"Our career centers across the state are willing and able to assist citizens throughout the application process, helping connect Alabamians with these in-demand career opportunities."

The top two employers posting the most online ads in February 2026 were Huntsville Hospital with 1,170 ads and UAB Health System with 867 ads. The rest of the top 10 were: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (662), Baptist Health (521), DCH Health System (379), The University of Alabama (321), Greer's (321), Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center (316), USA Health (309) and East Alabama Health with 295 online job ads listed.
