NEXT WEEK: Senate HELP Committee to Hold Hearing on Nominations for Deputy HHS Secretary, Surgeon General, and SAMHSA

WASHINGTON - On Wednesday, September 16, the U.S Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will hold a confirmation hearing on the nominations of Chris Klomp to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Nicole Saphier to be Surgeon General, and Timothy Westlake to be Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use (SAMHSA).

Agenda:

  • Nomination of Chris Klomp to be Deputy Secretary of U.S. Health and Human Services.
  • Nomination of Nicole Saphier to be Medical Director in the Regular Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Service.
  • Nomination of Timothy Westlake to be Assistant Secretary for U.S. Mental Health and Substance Use.
