There are a handful of orphans, eager for adventure, to choose from:
Players can select the Well-loved Figurine as a reward for completing a Children's Week questline. The Well-loved Figurine is Warbound, takes up a bag slot, is only redeemable during Children's Week, and disappears once the holiday event concludes.
Completing select Children's Week activities with your little protégé in tow also helps to fill up your bar in the Traveler's Log.
Exchange the Well-loved Figurine for any of the Children's Week pets or transmog items from vendors near the Orphan Matrons in Dornogal (Jepetto Joybuzz, Stormwind (Brundia Braidhammer), and Orgrimmar (Leial Knitterton).

Showing your orphaned child around can benefit you and the child. Once you've completed the various quests associated with this event, you'll have a choice of several pets to add to your Battle Pet collection, and this is the only Week of the year when you can obtain pets:
If you've already collected all these pets over the years, you'll get the Pet Care Package, which provides a variety of items, including pug costumes, a Magical Pet Biscuit, and a Flawless Battle-Stone.
